It is such fun writing a novel. You start with a minor incident, a vague memory and you can never tell where it will lead you. In this case it began with me as a sixteen year old living in Southend-on-Sea, who with a girl friend at the time, while on a beach at night, overhear two men talking. One was trying to coerce the other into stealing something from work. Could it be official secrets from a electronics company that designed hi-tech military systems, or something else?
